You may be required to enter into contracts for purchase/sale of property/goods or you may have to create legal forms like general-release forms in your day to day life. There are many aspects that merit careful consideration and inclusion in the contract/form to make them valid in a court of law if they end up there for dispute resolution.
Legal contracts/forms should contain a clear and precise detailing of the full and proper names of the parties to the contract. They must also identify the parties with their current addresses. If the party happens to be a registered company, the legal contract/ form must mention the full name of the company along with the addresses where its registered offices are located. You must verify the name of the company by procuring a copy of its Articles of Association.
The legal contract/form must clearly state the consideration for the contract which could be handing over of something valuable or relinquishment of a valuable right. The terms and conditions should be well understood and worded with caution to prevent misinterpretations. The term of the contract and whether the parties intend to renew or terminate the contract after that term must also be mentioned clearly as per the nature of contract.
